After we finished making our baby bed, Aaron started constructing a changing table to match. I know that you can change a baby anywhere and a changing table is not necessary, but we needed storage and Aaron loves building things. So, now we have this awesome changing table with pickets on the ends, two shelves for storage, a spot for a clothes hamper, and a storage area on top for everyday items. It is perfect!
While Aaron was constructing the changing table, I started working on sewing a clothes hamper liner to fit the storage cube I chose and changing pad covers. The internet was out when I started working on the liner, so I just winged the pattern and it turned out just fine. For the changing pad covers, I followed the instructions here. These were really simple to make and look great. Sure beats spending lots of money on covers that, lets face it, are just going to get all kinds of ickiness on them. With this table done, we now have all the furniture we need for our nursery. Just in time too because we have less than a week left to go!
I am what you would call a homemaker. I love to cook, love to bake, and love crafty hobbies like sewing, quilting, and knitting. This blog is dedicated to these projects. Enjoy!
