Since we have been in remodel mode ever since the day we moved in to the house, we have had tools, materials, and half finished projects strewn around the floors. In our upstairs guest room, 3/4 of the floor was covered in remodel stuff and the floor was barely visible. This means that I have not been able to sweep this section for many months. Downstairs, we had the entire space behind our couches that was also covered in tools and whatever we were working on. After about 13 months, I started feeling cramped and dirty simply because my house was covered with remodel gear that constantly reminded me of the 100 unfinished projects we have. Anyone that has taken on an extensive remodel project knows exactly what I am talking about unless you are the type of person that puts everything away all the time. Putting things away after working all day long is difficult when the couch and a nice glass of wine are calling your name :)
We finally broke one day and decided it was time to take our house back. Aaron went to Home Depot and bought three large shelving units that can hold 1,000 pounds each. We assembled these units upstairs and started putting everything on a shelf. Not everything fit but the majority did. And guess what? There was a floor underneath everything! I was able to clean the floors and finally felt like my house was mine again :)
