After painting the walls, I decided that painting the ceiling would really help brighten up the room. This process was similar to the walls and we had to use a bunch of caulk to fill in the large gaps and holes. We used white for the ceiling and a dark chocolate brown for the rafter beams. It turned out amazing! Here is a picture of the painting in progress.
I spray painting the light fixtures and light switch covers with a brown paint that had a hammered look to it. The light fixtures were silver and had already started corroding so the brown paint made it look brand new.
We wanted to build a frame for the mirror and since we had a bunch of 4x4 tiles that came with the house, we decided to try them out. Aaron glued the tiles to the wall with liquid nails and added an almond colored grout. This really did make the vanity look great! Luckily the bathroom counter is already granite, so we don't have to mess with replacing it.
