When we were visiting Puerto Rico a year ago, Aaron documented an experience that I wanted to share here. He likes to write funny stories about our adventures from time to time. This one still makes me laugh :)
After a few Medallas and a couple dark and cokes I rode a 13 year old "stallion" named Tornado bareback down the streets of Rincon, Puerto Rico yesterday. The owner of the horse had just been riding through and asked me if I knew how to ride. Naturally being from Texas, I lied and said I did.
The reins were older than the horse and broke when I tried to turn at the end of a street and ol' Tornado took off up the hill. Well, my story back fired and I was quickly bouncing to my impending doom while desperately trying to reach the end of the reins flailing under Tornado's mouth. About the time I reached it I remembered the owner telling Tornado to put on the brakes when I met him, so I grabbed the reins and hollered, "frenos Tornado" (That means brakes in spanish).
Ol' Tornado stopped short and I swung down off him, walked him unwillingly back down the hill to el dueno y di a Senor Tornado "adios". Made it to see another day, and another Medalla
