On our trip to Nicaragua this year, Aaron and I purchased two hammocks from a lady that made hammocks by hand. It was really amazing to see these being made by the locals. One of the hammocks was a hammock swing, pictured here. This is my favorite type of hammock and only needs one hook to hang up. You can lay back completely and fold out the hammock to feel like a traditional hammock or you can just sit in it. I like to sit with my legs crossed and a book in my hand. Luckily for us, our house is mostly shaded after about 1:00 and I can sit in this hammock swing comfortably for the majority of the day. Lovely :) Sometimes Buddy and Bonnie (my pups) even like to sit in the hammock with me. We plan on putting a hook inside the house so I can use this hammock on rainy days too. Just imagine enjoying the rain and frogs while lazily swinging in this hammock... I believe things like this are what make life worth living :)
