Sometimes, the only thing I can say is "Only in St. Croix"… We have terrible roads here with pot holes nearly every few feet. Needless to say, it is very important to have a good spare tire ready for the inevitable flat tire. This car was parked in a parking lot and I had to snatch a picture. The only way this scenario could have been more entertaining is if there was a lock on the spare. Obviously the tire was driven on until the tread was no longer visible and then stuck on the back of the vehicle. Not sure how much help it will be when needed…
St. Patrick's Parade is definitely one of the best parades on St. Croix. Everyone dresses up in anything green and green accessories are abundant.Green hair, green clothes, green shoes, green hats, green beer, you get it... You know when this event is getting close because many of your friends exclaim that they found a sitter or found the perfect outfit. Finding a babysitter on one of the most anticipated days on island is tough! This year, the parade was bigger than ever and so much fun! We had bands, twirlers, gypsies, a bar and float combo, elaborate costumes, Moko Jumbies, music, dancers, and much more. And of course we had lots and lots of drinks :)
After the parade, everyone heads to the boardwalk where we have live music and dancing till late. My mother was on island for this parade and loved every second. Especially the dancing :) If you have the chance to come visit St. Croix during March, try to schedule your trip around this parade. It is a lot of fun!
