Last Sunday I (Aaron) had one of the funnest times at the beach I have ever experienced! I played with rocks, driftwood, sand, stones, and a couple of old bones to create a couple pieces of beach art! Theresa was watching me like I had gone off the rocker while I played in the sand. I used to be slightly creative back in my younger days and I forgot how much fun it could be. I lost track of time running back and forth down the beach to find the perfect size and color of stone or coral to make my dead pirate come to life. I felt like a kid again with no worries and nothing to do but play in the dirt. I made the skull and crossbones out of coral, stones, and a washed up rib bone, and the sword is an old piece of bamboo. It took me almost 30 minutes to create the dead pirate and about 10 seconds after I snapped this photo a huge wave crashed all the way up the beach and washed it away.
Capturing these photos was a challenge because the waves seemed to wash away my work just as I would finish. I finally got a break between the waves and snapped a couple of pics. This wasn't as much fun to create as the dead pirate but I dig it. i can't wait to go to the beach later today to see what I can come up with next!
