To start, I planned on cheese and crackers. This sounds ordinary, but it wasn't because I had made homemade crackers that day. And wow were they good! Click here for the recipe.
Then to be healthy, I made garden salads with lots of veggies. This wasn't that exciting... But it did have feta cheese :)
I had already made a fresh loaf of Italian bread that morning so deciding on sandwiches for the main course was a no brainer. Chicken, bacon, cheddar... Yum!
For dessert, I put together a bowl of fruit. Yeah I know. Way to healthy. There will be cookies next time :)
And what is a picnic without some wine :)
Aaron's flight was delayed for a while, and by the time he got home, we both just wanted to relax. So, we decided to have the picnic on our deck instead of the beach. A quick change to my menu from beach to deck, and we were all set. We pulled out an air mattress to sit on (for the picnic feeling), lit some candles, and played soft music. It was wonderful and since we were at our house, we were able to stay out late and watch the stars. No sand cleanup required. Another success :)
